CATHERINE THREAT is a U.S. Army Reserve sergeant serving as a combat photographer in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. She spent 2010 covering the transition in Iraq as a Video Broadcaster for American Forces Network and The Pentagon Channel, winning the 2010 Brumfield Public Affairs Excellence Competition for “Rising Star.” She is currently stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan, as the U.S. Forces Afghanistan Deputy Commanding General-Support’s Personal Combat Photographer and supporting Joint missions including Combined Special Operations Forces. Her photographs have been published in military and civilian newspapers and magazines worldwide and most recently included in the University of Arizona’s Middle Eastern Studies exhibit.
